What is a smash cake tradition anyway?
For people who doesn’t have a baby, they had no idea about smash cakes!
Well, actually lotsa parents also don’t know about smash cakes tradition. It is becoming so trend in US lately.
The concept of a smash cake is letting your 1 yr old baby have their first cake and let them get messy, and the parents have fun by taking some picture and make some funny memory.

Actually that is something that people have done for years. But now it has become a much bigger deal in the last decade…
Parents make it so special even with special decorate and special moment for taking a picture, even hire some professional photographer.

I wouldn’t consider it a “tradition” in the US. it’s just a new trend ‘A must have” really just a photo opportunity for the parents. As much as I love the idea of traditions, I am awful at following through!

I admit it is always fun making some memories…
If you asked me do we have to make it as a parents? My answer is “Why not?”
it’s always something magic in the life of a child to capture, not only their 1st year, but a long the way.
