I am not just taking a picture, I capture the moment, which is tells a story, and that is hard.
Good moment, precious moment didn’t came twice. Too bad it is, but that’s what makes moment count.
Photography is art, under the feeling. Everyone can take a picture, but not everyone can tell a story behind the picture that he captures without telling it with words.
For me, sometimes I feel so a little insecure. The pressure of having a client who’s paid you for your work, subjective point, artistic work is enough to cause a great stress and anxiety. And for me, I work basically on my opinion “I know only an awesome shot and hard work” vs “what my client wants” it’s making life that bit harder
Some people asked me why I always nervous taking a wedding picture after all this time.
Well here some of my answer :

1. THE BEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD
In every wedding I do, I feel like I am the best people they’ve choose to capture their moment. From the nervous brides and groom, to the chaos family who wants to put everything good on that day, and the people who just don’t realise that they’re not the photographer (seriously 🙂 deciding that you should have a picture of them , instead of the couple staring each other.
And there we are, as a wedding photographers have to deal with a huge range of people and their “imagination” of being show on the wedding albums
As the “best people” who they choose to captured their special moment, you have to be able to read their face and mimic well enough to capture them at their best, their emotions their feeling, their very best angles, without letting them bothered of my camera.

2.ARTISTIC + PRESSURE
When your client choose you to be their wedding Photographer, they expect you to be able to act, mingle and able to work around people, who will move around and get in your way, people who will be difficult about their photo being taken, or people who will insist you take hundreds of their photos, or people that play smarter than you in a way taking a picture.
Basically, you have to become a master in diplomacy and doing all your art work under pressure from many kind of people
3. YOU HAVE ONLY ONE CHANCE
As a “Wedding photographers” and also photographers in general you can’t miss a the moment. You can’t expect the second time moment, like the first kiss, or the cake cutting. Or you can’t just ask the bride and groom to re-enact the whole scene because you were making a mistake like your camera seams out of focus. You have to be a good photography, working with what’s in front of you, even if it’s crap, dark, bad situations and crowds, you just have to make a good pictures. It is only one chance, you missed it you loose!

4. You need the best people skills in the world
In some land they appreciated the work of wedding photographer as full skill job. Skill from taking a photos, skill on handling emotional families time, and skill to handle nervous brides and groom. Not only that, as a wedding photographer you have to be able to lead people from many social status, from low to high level of social people. I think it’s genuinely one of the most difficult, stressful and admirable jobs out there…and I love it.
5. Physically tiring and emotionally draining
You have to know how exhausting it is, both mentally and physically when you have a wedding shoot. I personally think not everybody understand and realises how completely broken we are as a photographer after a day of covering a wedding. It’s so rewarding and such fun, but it’s tough.
As a Wedding photographers we are also have to stand on our feet the whole day with very little time to rest in between. Well that is why I feel I really don’t need a gym, I have my own gym field ( Read = wedding venue) 🙂

6. The editing and …the worst editing
After 1 day shooting, late at night when you were finally home you have to export all of the pictures. There you know that every wedding you will find almost more than 1000 pictures after all. Which means you have also to spend time to edit raw files, one by one, in a way that brings them together as a cohesive set of pictures and brings out the best.
Honestly, you have no idea how photographers get through the laborious task of editing hundreds of wedding photos, making them look incredibly beautiful and making them fit together.
So, I can only say, having the experienced and exhausting and inspiring life of a wedding photographer, then you know how to criticise how we do it
